When red light apears on dash, approx. how many miles of driving do I have left.

1400cc 16v sport, limited mods.

theres about 1 gallon left when the light comes on so however many miles you get to the gallon is how far you could go... in theory. it will probably be about 25-30 miles

I reckon it must be about 20 miles...30 seems excessive...good thing was I used to be able to make the red light go out with some heavy breaking...!!

i always let my red light come on before i fill up! No word of a lie i reckon its usuallybout 30 - 50 miles left when the light is on! if i put £10 in then it turns the light of for bout 40 miles then comes back on again

well i got 30miles out of the red light in my 1.6. I was literally running on fumes when i filled it up. Got about 44 litres in it when filled up, so it must have been pretty damn low.

why when it doesnt know the difference unless u actually run out...the engine cant tell if there 1 litre or 10 litres of fuel left.

If u run out thats another story.

beacuse all the shit is at the bottom of the tank

I ran out of petrol a few times in my nova, once engine cut out just as I was turning in to station and managed to roll to the pump.
now in corsa I fill up before red light
