Evening Guys,
Quick question - my 1998 Corsa 1.2 16V died last night after an 80 mile motorway run. No warning, just engine completely cut out. Can't bump start etc.
This morning, it started up again, drove for a couple of miles and then did the same again.
I've narrowed it down to it doing this when the engine gets warm. I seem to remember from when I was on this site years ago that this would point to a problem with the coilpack but a google search has suggested camshaft sensor.
Anyone any ideas?
Also, the EML is now on (wasn't earlier). Can you read the codes without a scanner?

Unfortunately you can't read the codes on the 1.2 16vs without proper kit but it will almost 100% be your crankshaft sensor. They're a common problem, they go open circuit when they get hot so without a signal from that, the engine can't run. Once it cools down, it makes the circuit again and it will run fine. Most of the times I've heard of it, the car will start again after 10-15 minutes

I'm not sure, I only ever got mine read by a couple of local garages but I'm not sure what systems they used.

Ok.
One last question, where is the sensor located? Also where is the diagnostic port?

The sensor is on the back of the engine, accessed from underneath, not far from the starter motor. I did have a pic somewhere but I can't find it now.
The diagnostic port is on the fuse box behind the panel in the dash by your right knee
