If you've got a decathlon close to you..

http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/rockrider-5-2-black-34963795/

I bought that a few weeks back. Was £160 in store.

Not bad components on it for the price. Ended up putting skinner slicker tyres on it and its not bad on the road.

Why do you need any suspension if it's only going to be ridden on roads?

I was wondering if someone would ask this! It's mental to buy a suspension bike if you aren't ever going off road.

If you're only riding on roads, surely a road bike would make more sense

I don't think there is a minimum as such, the scheme my work was doing was upto £400.

thought about a hybrid? Some hybrids have front suspension if you insist on it? Just because you might go off road doesn't really warrant the need for suspension surely? Alongside my road bikes I have a cheap suspension mountain bike and well... it may as well be a hardtail
