Bought my car just over a year ago, everything standard except a k&n cone filter but had a problem with the engine and it wouldn't start!
When i bought it...
I got it home a set to work to find out what the problem was. didn't take long when i took the plugs out no.3 plug was battered on the end so took the head off to find a hole in the piston!!!
That was quickly fixed with a new piston full set off piston rings and a reconditioned cylinder head i was able to find fairly cheap so was running within a week.. after a month or so running it standard i found some cav slabs.
But it sat way to high and a mate was selling some springs at the time nice and cheap. think its lowered by around 50mm now. also painted a red stripe round the alloys which i think improves nicely 
Thats how it stayed until a couple months ago when i found a gsi bumper and skirts not too far away and had my arches colour coded when the bumper was sprayed.
And a pic with my mates old car, which had a fight with a wall and lost.

they have rings inside them pal. got them off my bro a while back not sure who put them inside.
