Just been invited to a BMW ///M day at Oulton Park, full day of driving BMW's and being a passenger with Andy Priaulx.

Can't fooking wait, never been to Oulton Park before last driving thing I done was about 8 years ago at Croft in a Ferrari!

As a lover of all things ///M it's gonna be awesome!

i did the m3 experience at oulton and thought it was a bit of a let down , couldent drive the car properly and it was set up to its softest settings

I'm doing RaceMaster at Oulton in June.

That includes hooning in an M3. Be able to see what the fuss is about...or not.

I'm on the RS250 (same as pic <----) I'll do one on the R1 at some point.

You'll love Oulton. It's got everything, elevation, decents, blind corners, banked hairpins etc

I've been around the Ring with Andy Priaulx in an M5, he's a great driver and nice chap to boot, you'll no doubt love it.

Amazing fun filled day, from 9am through till 16:30 just abusing BMW's!

Didn't take any pics but was a photographer there and pics will be viewable on their site tomorrow so will copy those!

I'm itching for a Z4 M / M3 / 135i and OMG the M1 Coupe is GORGEOUS!!!

Got a recording of our laps in M3 so I'll try get those uploaded too!

Got the pics from the photographer today, took a selection:

Had a briefing and the day got split up into 5 events so everyone was kept busy all day.

First we had the "Test Drive" pretty much the full BMW range from Mini JCW S to 760Li M Sport, just went and drove whatever took your fancy 3 or 4 laps in each car.




After that our group moved onto the M3 drive and passenger laps, Lap in a Mini Challenge Race Car / Touring Car / M3 with Andy Priaulx driving and then with an instructor for 5 laps telling you how to drive the M3 to its full potential.







After the above we had a break for dinner, given a chat from the current BTCC touring car team and Andy Priaulx along with Jake Humphrey.




After dinner we got taken to the Mini rally stage, a watered down slippy section of track to go and abuse the Mini's handbrake turns into all the corners to learn how to correctly power out of the corner. The instructor was pulling the handbrake on as you turned to try catch you out.




From this we moved onto the handling section, I done mine in a 135i M Sport, accelerate as hard as you could in the wet to see how traction control works, then into a coned off area to test turning while abs is kicking in, then an aggresive lane change.




Then the final part of our day was the Z4 shootout, two identical marked out tracks, race against someone else in another Z4, all driving aids off, fastest time wins, best of three.




Then back for more food, prizes for fastest times / best scores of the day in each event.

All in all an AMAZING day and I want one of these....

I have driven the M3 GTS we had one in at work and i pdi (pre delivery check) it, took 4 hours to set it up for the customer....

Did you get to drive it?

i was at the bentley factory yesterday, only 10 miles from oulton and saw a yellow Z4 the same as that on the way home on the motorway, hardly a common colour so was probably the same one
