Just got the ball rolling on buying our first house, have a mortgage in place and our offer has been accepted for this....

Its a 3 bedroom, semi detached house which was put up for sale for £127,500. The max we wanted to go to on a house was 125k, we went in at first at 119k but as they had only recently put it up for sale they woudn't budge below 125 for the time being. We kept trying to bring them down lower but eventually we agreed that if they left all the white goods in the house then we would go to 125.

What does everyone think? Only cosmetic things which need improving at the moment in my opinion. The photos dont really do it justice as they make every room look smaller then they are. We're happy with it and fingers crossed it goes through ok

Good start. Personally I would change kitchen and bathroom though.

im looking for something with the same layout as that.
just needs a bit of modernising and it would be spot on, i know its a massive job but the roof tiles make it look old

127k dont seem a bad price for that.

Roof tiles would be a right pain as they are joined to next doors. Both rooofa would most likely need removing.

A goot clean with some brick acid would do them the world of good

In a village called lingwood mate, I've only lived in norwich for a few months after I moved up from down south last year.

Like you say the kitchen and bathroom do look a little dated but they are both in good condition so there's no rush. I forgot to mention the garage with power and two allocated parking spaces... and with all the white goods included the general opinion is that we've done well to make our move and agree a price so soon

thats a lovely house for the money.

needs some conifers planting at the bottom of the garden for privacy and some modernisation but that's the best bit about moving into a house imo.

conservatory is nice too.

Been in the house a couple of months now, work alot of hours so slow progress! Heres a pics though...

Before...

After...

Front garden was a mess, a rubbish bricked up flower bed and what I can only describe as a mound of soil, bricks and shrubs planted at the back of this photo. Ordered a skip in and cleared the lot, layed a make shift drive way with some free slabs as well as getting rid of a few trees. Dumped the best of the soil at the back of the garden to level up the lawn and cover the bare area where they had a trampoline, laid some grass seeds which have just started to grow.

before

after

Ignore the lines at the back right of the garden, have a loose fence panel and was a bit concerned about the recent high winds!!!

theres some kind of paint/ sealer that you can put on your roof tiles now, a few people near my girlfriend have had it done the tiles look simlar to yours and now they are like a dark gray, they look 100% times better it might be worth searching or asking a roofer about it

house looks loads better now

the problem is, if we wanted to do the roof then the neighbours would need convincing too, otherwise I dont think theres a need for it. I know they'd look better but I think it would look a bit silly if it was just our roof.
