Ok, when im driving along, clutch down 2 change gear ( obv lol ) the revs dont drop.. they kind of step, 3k - 2.5k-2k ( if u know what i mean), then on tick over it nearly cuts out and runs lumpy. Could it be idle control valve? help is most apreciated

While engine is running unplug the ICV and see if it makes any difference.
If so then take it off and clean it.
Also check your throttle bodie to see if its clean

AFM fooked.
Mine does exactly the same. Changed the ICV Cleaned it made sure all the pipes were connected.
Tried seans AFM and it worked spot on.
Do the paper clip test, see if it throws low voltage AFM.

all wrong lol, it was the throttle cable not tensioned enough, it was slightly too slack, runs perfect, idles good.

shouldn't be, engine should idle without the cable attached, the icv works out how much air to keep circulating through the inlet for a smooth idle when the throttle is totally shut.

Only time cable can effect idling is if its too tight then it idles at high rpm
