So glad to be leaving eduction, this type of bollocks is getting worse.
The good news is that she's probably used to special treatment due to whatever acronym she's got this week and so her quals won't be worth a carrot anyway. Any future employer with any sort of stringent interview process will realise this and she'll actually be worse off than someone who just got on with work and earned their grades.
We've had a few examples in my place of work, mostly girls, who mostly play the girl card and come out looking similar on paper but know nothing. Obviously in the real world they're somewhat disadvantaged because they threw away the chance to actually learn.
The one consolation for me is that in this case, the teachers are worried enough to actually have objected. It's good news that it went that far. There are many in that job who compromise academic standards on a daily basis for an easy life and I applaud anyone who stands their ground. Just a shame they're in the minority and mostly overruled when they do have a point.
