It's funny to see how they have struggled when they once had what appeared to be a 90% share of the phone market. I don't remember someone who didn't own at least one Nokia of some sort 10-12 years ago. Now you'd be lucky to see one out an about

Up until I traded my N95 8GB in I was a thorough supporter of only ever buying a Nokia phone, at the moment I would never go back to them though, currently rocking my HTC Desire and can see no real reason to swap to another manufacturer anytime soon

Last Nokia I had was the N95 too. Everyone else has seemingly produced better phones since around that time for me.

Last Nokia I had was a 5800, it was actually a really good phone but the latest firmware updates made it slow and crap, hence me getting the Android phone temporarily and now am currently on my iPhone 4!

I'd be interested to see whether their Windows phones would be any good though - probably not...

I think nokia has had its chips for the moment, was market leader and best at its game for a good decade, but has been overtaken now. Bit like the PS3

Saying that these things tend to come and go in waves, and i think they will return again at some point as the best, and the likes of Apple etc will go through bad spells

To be fair Apple are in another league at the moment.

Apple made 14B% last year, the same as IBM yet there revenue was 30% less. The business model they have is clever as they are now making so much money from the App store with the smallest amount of effort.
To get that profit IBM need 450,000 people...Apple 45,000! It won't be long before they overtake Microsoft

Nokia made....1.8B$

Used to always have Nokias. Think up until the 7610. It looked good but it was very buggy and slow. Once they moved away from being just a phone and started trying to cram loads of features in they went downhill.

It wasn't that long ago that I wouldn't buy anything other than Nokia, when the whole world can see you are getting behind how can the company who get paid a fortune not realise.

Apple will be like that eventually, they're creating a massive bubble which will eventually burst.

Nokia are behind the times but your comparison is not really correct as Apple dont just sell the iphone so its only a small % of there turn over

Exactly this

Im not sure if this new move to window OS, is a good or a bad thing, it doesnt sound very appealing to me really, would feel like im just buying a PDA that can make phone calls

maybe, they may get to a point where they own a 3rd of the mobile market with htc and samsung. RIM and Nokia will be fighting for scraps, but unless for some reason they fail to innovate, or make old shit tech look like their cool new idea, i cant see the bubble bursting anytime soon

Yeah, but it's not Nokia who are doing anything wrong. It's those idiots who buy iPhones because they're too stupid to buy a Nokia.
