It won't alter fuel consumption in any measurable form.

I think you should strip it for fuel consumption - but take it all with you to refit for the show

Taking the seats out will make no difference to anything

Strip it whilst there, find a good mate willing to store the parts while you drag then refit for the rest of the show! best of both worlds!

Taking a large shite and not eating for a few hours before going up the strip will have a similar effect to taking the seats out and involves much less effort and a slightly more pleasant journey to and from the show.

Not completely pointless, he might lose a tenth which I'm sure will make it seem worth it when he's refitting it all next week

What a load of shite.
Winds me up when people strip out the car for drag strip, then say they get a 14 second dead, then re fit everything and say there car will do a 14 second 1/4 mile when with all the weight back in it wont. Leave it as it is, hardly gonna break any records anyway is it.

What has stripping the rear for the dragstrip, got anything to do with fuel consumption?

Well I say good luck, do what you can.
No one who's car has been near F Sport can laugh at anyone wanting to save a bit of weight
