Just in short.....does the kit require any cutting/welding? Or is it simply a bolt on kit? What is involved exactly.

and sorry forgot to ask, can it be used on the ABS equipped GSi?

The old kit was a simple bolt on jobbie but the new kit involves a bit of welding i think.
