can anybody tell me how much it is roughly to get an engine skimmed and cleaned up abit?

yeah mate cylander head needs done badly, picked a redtop up cheap and was wondering why it was so cheap so stripped it down and found out why

not warped as far as i can see mate, ill get pics tomoz and post them up on here and see what folk say wheather its worth gettin it skimmed or not

If the head gasket has gone I'd get the head skimmed whether it looks damaged or not

cylinder head needs skimming badly but its not warped? unless its warped what other reason is there to skim it?

You cant see all warping.
Could be warped 0.1mm which may not sound a lot but thats where it'll fail next time.

when i stripped the engine down there was noi head gasket there:O:O, eve if its not bad ad rather get it done and that way its nice and freshly done for puttin it all back together

Ups the compression which is fine for most standard engines, and gives a nice new sealing face for the gasket.
Talking £30/40 around here.

^^^ But they tipped out all the solid lifters which are all different, so spent hours and hours measuring cam-lifter gap to normal again

got my redtop head skimmed and hydrolic lifters cleaned and reset the other day for £45
