Pointless mod or something that everyone should do on their cars?

One of the brake hoses on the Cougar needs replacing (was picked up on the last MOT) so I thought I may as well get all four changed, as the car is at an age where everything starts breaking

Goodridge lines seem only about £20-£30 more than the rubber ones off eBay (no idea what Ford charge, probably 1000% more ).

I'd say its worthwhile.

Failing that, price up new hoses, price up braided hoses and see what the difference is. Probably make it a bit more appealing...

if you're needing to replace and it isnt much more expensive just replace with braided (the flexi's - not the copper shit)

http://bit.ly/kh12qs

That's a link to the Goodridge ones from a seller on eBay.

It says they have a PTFE inner with a stainless steel outerbraid and I think I read somewhere else they have zinc fittings/connectors or whatever, no mention of copper so I assume these are good?

AK means replace the flexi pipes with braided hoses, not the normal copper lines that run from front to rear/left to right.

That should be the right kit though.

Sorry another question - how long should it take to replace all 4 lines and bleed the system/put new fluid in etc.?

Ford reckon it's about 5 hours labour - at a cost of £500ish

Will be putting some on the Rex soon, they just firm up the pedal a bit, wouldn't say it's an essential mod unless you're actually changing the hoses or disconnecting the calipers for some reason.

Did they help to balance the car during your neighbourhood burnout?
