Being fed up of running about in shitters
i've decided to either treat myself to a Corsa or Astra Vxr,
What are like to live with day to day?
Typical mpg?

stuff to watch out for?

only ask as i'm sure fair few people have had them on here,

or any recommendations for similar cars?

cheers

Mpg is shocking on both, astra for your money's worth Corsa is good if you want something smaller and less to insure... Both brake just as bad as each other imo but warranty sorts those issues out free of charge in most cases, anyone who owns a vxr of any type with no warranty is asking to get raped. Buy one new and your laughing.

Astra is a very nice car, no experience with the corsa.

If you want something fast comfy with a fantastic driving position then the Astra is fantastic. However, there are better drivers cars for the money. r26 is lethal and so so so quick, probably one of the best fwd cars ever made.

Focus is great too if a little understood and just as juicy.

Golf has 4x4 and nicer cabin than most.

If your choice is just Corsa or Astra, might as well take the Astra. Few less mpg but a better car imo.

Astra also looks more grown up and can be had for cheaper.

My stage 3 vxr averages 26.6 mpg, only thing to watch out for it whiney gearboxes but there is a company I know of now that can change the bearing as long as it isnt jumping out of gear for £300 !! I love mine, only reason I'm selling is because I need something bigger.

My Stage 2 Astra used to get about 24mpg on my commute which was stop start. On a good long run could get 35mpg.

Mine was bombproof. Gearbox too.

Ahh, cheers guys,
Think I'm set on the Astra... Though I am looking at the other options, decided corsa is too small.
Just no keen on the fact majority of people have stuff go wrong lol, as I'll be buying a couple year old one,
Mpg doesn't bother me too much as I live less than 2miles from work, but I do like to travel lol, I could live with 30+ on a run,

Mini JCW. Faster and better looking than the Corsa VXR. 4 pot Brembos as standard. MPG in the 30s easily too.

Expensive though and it has a french engine so I'm imagining there will be trouble at some point.
