He does deserve a chance but after all the money United will have invested in trying to return him to fitness you have to think its just never going to happen. He should think about his own personal health and walk away from the game, after all he has probably been earning what 70-90k per week at united so its not like he needs to carry on working.

He's an elite level sportsman, he probably loves the game and it is a big part of his life, probably why he won't give it up just yet.
