seen a few people on my facebook joing this greop; http://www.facebook.com/pages/First-750000-Get-a-Free-Smiley-Hat-To-Help-Promote-Our-New-Clothing-Line/216218215080241?sk=wall
but then noticed its had 200k+ people join in a day or 2. who falls for it?? clearly a new era hat, no info about this "new clothing line" and if they are a new line why give away £20m+ worth of someone else product to promote it?
anyway, whats the scam here? will everyones details get sold or does the owner of the group stand to make some money by seling the group when its got 750k members?

I seen this, doesn't even ask for a size even if it was new era, and if its for a new clothing line I dont think they would be able to afford to give away 750,000 hats

It could be good for the scammer. Get to 750,000 likes, close the group so people can't like it. Email everybody asking for the there personal details..
Voilá!
