Have a car im looking to sell. Car is not insured or taxed..

Looking to reinsure to tax vehicle and add mot.

Whats the best way of doing this...

Have looked into one month insurance, but its a silly price...

Advice please

you can get one day insurance to tax your car

Would like longer than that. Can u insure a car then cancel once it's sold ?

i would personally get yearly insurance on the car, then cancel when it's sold and you just pay the admin fee + cost on cover in that time.

the news rules state you can't have a taxed vehicle without having insurance on it or they will fine you or take your car away and crush it even if its off road, you have to have tax and insurance at all times or the vehicle sorned, check the government website

Get it MOT'd then sell it cheaper to make up for the price of no tax.

mines been taxed, mot'd but uninsured since this new rule came into play and ive heard nothing. its a stupid rule

It only came into play at the end of June so thats probably why you havn't heard anything.

ah i thought it was ealier than that. ive had a letter telling me my tax is out at the end of the month but no mention fo the insurance that i cancelled 3 months ago

Are you with admiral group?

You will be able to do it on temp cover. Its from one week to a month at a time i think (you choose).

Fuck that. Normal insurance policy and take advantage of the 14 day 'cooling off period'
