Afternoon all currently have a x16xe corsa but the engine is on its last legs and is going to cost a couple of hundred to put right. Ive bern offerd a redtop cheap and its worked out easier and cheaper to fit the redtop but i need to know what else i need.

The redtop comes with all ancileries ecu,loom and f20 box what else do i need and can the conversion be done over a weekend ?

This high quality kit is the easy way to transplant a Vauxhall C20XE engine with an F16, F18 or F20 gearbox into a Body Type 2 Corsa B. Suitable for the Body Type 2 Corsa B, i.e. originally with power steering or a multi-valve (12v or 16v).

Manufactured by M-Tech, the kit contains:
- A set of engine and gearbox mounts.
- A special bodywork mount with rubber damper to go with RH engine mount.
- A set of motorsport driveshafts to enable the use of 2.0L inner and outer cv-joints.
- A pair of special 4-stud wheel hubs to suit the 2.0L outer cv-joints.
- New fastenings for front anti-roll bar.

Unless you have a mate who can make mounts/weld shafts etc then it won't be cheaper than fitting another 1.6.

Can be done in a day if you have all the tools to hand.

What about the shafts etc too??Did it come out of a Corsa i take it??

And thetes me thinking a redtop conversion was a cheaper option too a LET conversion

No its come out of a calibra but was going in a corsa so he had already got the mounts just nothing else

ebay for mounts costs around 70quid for all ud need depending on what shell you have shafts u can use ur sport shafts as long as there 22spline then just go to a motor factors get 2 inner cvs 22spline on shaft 34 into the box 2.0 brakes and away you go we did it in a day that was from taking out the c20xe out corsa taking a sport engine out and redtop in and started the same day cost 900quid all in but that engine was rebuilt and mint tbh

No matter what, it's going to cost you money to get the engine fitted. It's the cost of the engine and the parts that make the LET so much more expensive.

I got the engine for £200 with everything and the mounts would my shafts fit from the 1.6 sport

yes count the splines they should be 22spline but you will need different inner cvs ie 22spline on shaft and 34 spline into the box you can get them off ebay u may need a gearbox spacer u may not also antirollbar lowering blocks again ebay for cheap yea are the mounts for a corsa or calibra what shell do you have??

The mounts are for a corsa n its a 1.6 shell

if they are type 2 mounts then your sorted apart from gear linkage and inner cv's

Be a type 2 shell.

cav mk2 1.6 inner cvs, £50ish each!

Haven't seen them cheap for the past two years, they are getting hard to find aswell.

When I priced up a XE conversion, Figured it wasnt worth it for a tired, 16 year old engine (at least).
