my old one had 132k on and never missed a beat. it was a 1.8T quattro a3.
Engine had been regularly serviced though, i think that is the main key as per any turbo engine.
Will last forever if looked after, dont be put off by a higher mileage one though as can pick them up for peanuts now

If its been serviced properly and looked after it will be fine.
Didn't DannyLad from here have one on around 170k? Which was modded too?

90-100,000 miles cars are the worst, usually nothing major will of been replaced, leaving all the big jobs to the next owner, unless its been owned by a member of an online owners club.
Most cars of that age will be advertised with new brakes, meaning they had to pay out for discs instead of the usual pads and then got scared so selling up

My god, the first sensible thing you've ever said
I had a 100k Ibiza, engine was fine (serviced every 8k or so) but needed suspention/bush/brake work doing big time.

mines on 132k 1.8t remap'd, cai, 3inch turbo exhaust and it gets the shit kicked out of it daily.
In the 33k Ive done in the past year i have replaced:
2 Wishbone Bushes
Cam Belt
2 x Tyres
Front brakes (discs + Pads)
Oil Breather pipe.
so less than 600ish in a year if running. very good cars if looked after

Engine wise, I've had:
4 x ignition coils (common fault)
1 x speed sensor
1 x EGT sensor
1 x cam belt
My new EGT sensor seems to be playing up and no one has a clue why. I'm thinking the turbo intake hose is collapsing, so I'm going to buy a silicone one in black for about £130

Mine had 125,000 (iirc) when I sold it and aside from an issue caused by a bad batch of fuel, I had no real problems

Mines done 111,000 miles, runs like an absolute dream, no issues what-so-ever and thats with a stage 1 remap, regular servicing though, also think mine has mostly motorway miles.
As said, my bushes have started to wear which I shall be replacing within the next week or so, once theyre done it will mechanically be like new, or as good as! Very good engines

At that mileage, if it hasn't had anything replaced it'd need a cambelt, water pump, coilpacks, and probably need the sump off to remove the oil sludge out of it.

Coilpacks arent that expensive I dont think, roughly £30, also depends on manufacturer and genuine or non genuine.

Have you seen the Badger5 3"TIP? Pretty good gains from it.
