Hello Snap Day
Can anyone recommend me a camera that's predominantly going to be used for HD video? I've currently got a HD camcorder but I'm finding that the manual settings are a pain in the ass to use because it's all touch screen, the built in microphone is crappy and the lens isn't the best
So, I'm thinking either DSLR, Micro 4/3's or a entry level pro camcorder.
I've looked at 60D/7D's but wasn't sure if that was the best option and if there was something more suitable out there
(The kind of stuff I film can be found here - http://vimeo.com/gloriousvictory )
Thanks Snap Day

I have one of these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-LEGRIA-Definition-Digital-Camcorder/dp/B0032JTPGG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312458281&sr=8-1
that i have never used .
camera wise though one of my friends has used the 7d for filming and that came out well tbh.
id probably go dsrl route as then atleast you have a good camera as well but if you want a straight forward video camera then go for the pro ones (which i know nothing about)

I was thinking a DSLR is probably the more flexible option.
I'm using a Panasonic SD600 atm and it's slowly starting to annoy me

A 550D is now the new winner because it's about £300 cheaper than the 60D

On the Canon range the 1080p video is more or less the same from the 500D up to the 5D mk2. Id go 500/550D and spend whats left on nice lenses.
edit - not sure if the 500 has an external mic socket, might be worth considering as the sound quality off the built in mic is not that great.
