ok someone died, but why kill the bear?

it didnt exactly saunter into a populated area and attack someone in a mcdonalds. it was in its own habitat and probably saw them as a threat.

however they should know better than to organise an expedition and go meddling in a bears own habitat. if they wanted see bears they could watch animal planet.

I know but according to only what I've read/heard, they should have had a dog with them as a natural warning or light snack and the trip wires failed to go off.
