Hey guys,

So i'm running in Vtec challenge and Trackday trophy if i can get some sponsors together to do both, i want a nice design to run with on the car so looking for some inspiration.

The car, it's the sides i'm more bothered about and tieing the design into the bonnet and bootlid.

Few i quite like but need something more simple really!

The car

Funky design i like but needs to be more simple!

More simple design i quite like (from one of our Clios)

Cheers

I was thinking black with a yellow outline, that picture makes my blue look lighter than it actually is

Should come down to Donnington this weekend mate. We're getting the car back from the garage on friday and so we'll have a good crack at it again this weekend imo.

The competition has certainly got a lot more in the series. As a comparison, I qualified us 2nd in class last race and some lads in another integra who had raced last year turned up and qualified 17th in class. They commented that last year when they came to the same track, they were qualified 7th - so it showed that everyone has got a lot quicker / more competitive in the series.

(to be honest, some of the machines people are using out there is £££ - not really fair compared to people on a budget, but certainly a good laugh either way).

Nah racing mate.

Don't expect miracles, our engine seems to be losing power and neither of us have driven donnington before.

Do you have a data logger? We were only testing at Donnington about 10 days ago so the track is fresh in my head if you fancy going for a track walk on the morning

Saturday, Quali 10:50, Race 3pm

- I think I may be camping over straight after picking up the car from the garage on friday, so if you get there early enough (and we're allowed on track?) I would probably up for a track walk

Tyres and brakes are brand new, so need bedding in too - I may have to do it in the paddock as the car's not road legal.

Could do with a couple of stop watches I want to tape one to the steering wheel so I can see my lap times as I'm lapping. Ghetto style

May be quite a few people around - My dad will be with me, then Chris_UK and his girlfriend are coming down to watch, one of my best mates Matt, My uncle / Cousin and my co driver Adrian and his mates I think

Should be a good laugh if the weather stays top.

What's you're opinions about this lads lines?

He seems to bog down a lot in first corner.
Should have a set of Dunlop Direzza 03g's for this race - hoping they're better than the R888's

How much is it to get in? I'm up for helping wherever i can dude!

First corner you can brake at the end of the triangular end that seperates the pitlane and track easily so he's early there.

Should be able to go easily flat through craners so just take the straightest line possible.

Old hairpin get two wheels on the dirt on the inside of the corner and it will pull you round the corner, we gained 5 tenths with one driver just from him getting 2 wheels on the inside dirt.

Mcleans on entry he's not far enough over to the left hand side of the track and again you want two wheels on the dirt on the inside of the corner, also want to be as early on the throttle as possible.

Coppice you want to turn in early, it's an odd one as it's sort of unsighted and you want to take as much curb as possible.

Final S bend is pretty good.

Interesting... that's good to hear ... our car generally rides kurbs really well - at brands it was really stable through the left right before clearways taking kurb, where others seemed unstable - so this little tip should help us out

Out of interest, how much bedding in would a new set of Dunlop Direzza 03g's need? I don't fancy going out on them brand new, but have no choice - I'll be driving first and then passing it over to my mate and I have a feeling it'll be v.slippy until they bed in.

oh yeah - any idea of sound limit? our exhaust is generally around 106 db without bung and I want to run without one

Can you drive them on the road at all?

How long do you get for qualifying?

Presume the tyres are directional so can't be sided?

I don't know about heat cycling tyres but if you warm them up correctly they should be fine.

As in long smooth weaving down straights, out of corners if it's a right hander for example. turn in and rather than straighting on the exit curb keep turning right till you get to the right hand side of the track, if that makes sense?

basically, no practice... straight into 30 mins qualifying - with both drivers needing to do laps - so roughly only about 12 mins each.

then next time you're out there is on the grid for the race

- Car is untaxed / uninsured - so can't drive it on the road.

Ah ok, well just warm them up properly for one lap then you should be able to get three flyers in! I'm looking forward to seeing the racing

P1 and P2 then Colbourn hit Jack backwards and but him to the pack of the pack badly damaged. Matt Alison in the white and orange one T boned Aron and took him out the race.

Second race we came 1st and 2nd like we should in the first
