I have been thinking about putting this up for a while so here you go.
I found myself looking through a few sites last week at cheap little motors but never really find anything. That was untill i stumbled across this.
The description was very brief but summed up a "96 corsa that had no mot and a damaged screen. I gave the owner a call to be told it was sold. About 30 minutes later i got a phone call saying it was back up for sale so i went over to view the car.
Never having owned a Corsa B before i had no idea what to look for so just gave it a look over as i would any other car.
The sills were clean, as were the arches, I lifted the boot floor up and this was also clean along with the bonnet, boot and footwells. This so far was all good. After a drive there seemed to be no engine troubles, suspension knocks or braking issues.
With this i stummped up the cash and paid the full asking price.
Like i said there was no MOT on the car, so this was my first thing to do, there is no point in trying to work on something which is hiding all sorts of secrets! There was a few obvious things that needed sorting. Most of which was this...
[img][/img]
The bonnet had come up and the corner had come through the bottom of the screen.
Got the old one out.
And wacked a new one in.
With this i got it to the MOT'er to see what i was dealing with.
It failed as i expected but no where near as bad as i thought! All i got was a fail on a rear wheel bearing.
So on the way home i stopped at my pals parts shop and picked up a replacement and got the old one off.
I then had the new stuff to get on
With this i took the car back to the testers the next day and got given my pass sheet!
I then took the car out for a little drive and took some photos. Here it is in all its bog standard glory!
Now i had just what i wanted! A unmodified, unmolested standard car to start working on and all for the seriously costly sum of £250!!
What i want to do with this car is...
I have never shown a car at a show, or taken a car around a track and if i can tock both of these off of my list i will be pretty happy, and if i can do it in a car that cost me £250 i will me totally over the moon!
I have a pile of parts sat with me here waiting to be fitted and hopefully i will be able to update this tomorrow with something a lot more intersting than a bog standard car!
Thanks for having a read and ill get some more updates in here really soon!

that front and rear bumper and the arches arent standard, they have all been colourcoded and are usually a horrible black plastic.. so if these have been painted well for 250 quid id say youve got yourself a reet bargain! will be intrested to see how this project comes along!

If you mean buckets of mods then you are certainly right! If you mean bucket seats then you are also right!

You are spot on with that pal, they have at some point been painted, but since then they really have taken a bit of a beating. The guy i got the car from had owned it for 2 years and was some what of a brute, i cant have seen him having done it so i guess it was the previous owner.
Its not a problem though as they will soon be having a trip to the skip!

Ah thanks! I hope i dont disapoint!
Little update here.
So i got up this morning nice and early and set about getting some work done.
My first job was to clean out the arches. as they were pretty manky!
I was then left with this.
Got them all cleaned up and ready to be painted and after all 4 were done i set about getting something more productive done. I wanted to paint, but i got seriously distracted!
I started out with this...
Half way through i had this
and at 2:46 i had this!
Please bear in mind that i have not set these up at all! Just chucked them on and stood back. You will be able to see that it does look a little like a squatting dog, reverse rake is not cool!
Hope you like! I have another little improvment to post photos of later tonight as well!
Thanks to RedTom and Fro for the coilovers, springs and damper!

I have many many more exterior plans for it than that! But i am going to wait until i can do it all at once Rather than in dribs and drabs

Tried this on last night, only bolted it on via the 2 slam pannel bolts. I do have the fogs and splitter.
I just needto get a grill. Does any one know if you can buy them new? If so what's the part number?
Thanks!!

Another GSi rep. How original.......
Looks great so far for the price you paid. Loving the stance and the wheels. Glad it's not the usual speedlines or worse, cav slabs.

There are so many because they look so damn good! Havent seen many red ones though?
Thanks! I didnt really want to go with the cav slabs or speedlines. only other things i would have considered would have been some MO6's. That said slabs and speedlines do liik pretty sweet!

Thanks for that!
Would i need to give them a part number or just ask for a GSi B grill? Just walk into a dealers and up to a parts desk?

Cheers Guys!
I am looking at what i can do engine wise. there seems to be a lot of options out there! I don't think i will be going for a XE though.
I have long enough to think it all over but i would like to think my current plans are pretty impressive! Although they will be staying a secret for now!
