when ever i use a wood my ball swerves to the right! more so with my driver.

i have tried everything i can think of to get rid of it. different grip, ball in different positions between my feet, hand twisted more, feet at different positions, not swinging as hard.

anyone got any tips about trying to get it to go straight?

Without seeing your swing it could be a number of things.

Is it quite a bit of movement to the right?

It only happens with your woods? Or do you have the same problem with irons, just not as severe?

What woods have you got?

Maybe you have the club face open when addressing the ball. Try turning the toe in a few mm.

Or maybe you're slightly altering your swing plane with the longer sticks

Put your left foot an inch or two back.

I used to get this, I found that slowing down your swing is a good place to start. I ended up bringing my right hand grip round the front a bit and twisting my elblow round the same way too if that makes sense.

I developed quite a large fade/slice with my Driver and it was the result of my swing being out to in. Try pivoting more around your waste to flatten your swing when you come back to the ball.

So many suggestions in here, best bet is to have a lesson (or you'll spend the equivalent money on 10 baskets of balls at the range trying them all out)

I cured mine by teeing it lower (think I was coming up on the ball as opposed to hitting it at the bottom of my swing.

OR

Try everthing in your power to hook the ball. Close the face, right foot positioned further back than your left and swing flat. Gradually you might find a happy medium!

Just have to ask, but it's definitely a slice? Rather than the ball just going off to the right?

Well the club isn't square at impact. My guess would be that you are swinging out to in.

Make sure you have most of your weight on your right foot when at the top of your swing.

On your downswing make sure your first movement is with your hips rather than your hands.

It's quite hard explaining

Really need to see your swing. make a video?

Or Get a 1 hour lesson with the pro at your local Golf Club, you will be surprised at how much you can improve in that 1 hour.

Good post. Nobody else has said anything remotely similar.
