Is it possible to get day insurance for high ins group import cars?

Everywhere i've tried seems to say nothing exotic on day insurance which is a bit of a git when it comes to buying one and needing to drive it home?

any ideas?

get a monthly/annual policy, next day go and drive the car, then cancel when you get back.

you'll get a full refund minus admin cost and 1 days insurance.

afaik yes they do, it says i have 14 days to cancel in my policy.
