Anyone have a guide to do this? easy or hard job? .. also, do i need to buy a new belt aswell or can i use the existing one? Any help will be much appreciated as always guys

You have to lower the drive shaft down to get it out which is a pain in the arse. Other than that its fairly straight forward just a bit fiddly. Has yours got aircon? You dont have to change the belt though no.

soo you get at it from underneath? .. and no, no aircon. do aircon models use different alternators?

Yeah you drop it down and take it out underneath the car. Only asked about aircon because theres more involved in removing the drivebelt. But you dont have to worry about that

I've replaced one on the XE and didn't need to drop a shaft, surely an x14 alternator isn't bigger?
