The clutch is biting about 2mm off the floor, and crunches into reverse, does it need the clutch doing?

Every corsa i've had has made a crunch noise going into reverse 
If you want the bite higher, adjust the threaded bar on the clutch cable at the gearbox end.

This is my second Combo, and 3rd Corsa and none of the others have crunched into reverse, Il try adjusting the clutch cable, it had a new cable 5000 miles ago...
