Came this morning, for my corsa C 1.2 sxi twinport = £776.98
me and my partner on the policy, fully comp, no accidents or convictions.
It's gOne up over £100 compared to last year. Personally I think it's getting worse to run a car these days.
Anybody else had their renewal through?
What's people's opinions when it comes to car insurance?
Thanks

last year i paid £830 plus for a 2001 1.4 16v astra
this year i paid £605 for a 1999 1.6 corsa
also i got 3 points (ts50) in my last week of the insurance on the astra so didnt declare them until i got the corsa. i was expecting a lot more tbh but it was less. i think it just depends what number they draw out of the hat
its not due til april but our lass checked the other day (go compare) and its about the same again this year

My renewal was £50 more than it was the year before. Got a cheaper quote with another company so thought I'd be cheeky and ask if they could beat it....BOOM £450 off

I was with quinn direct paying £1600. Renewal came through, it was £1900 odd. Rang them to see if they can do it cheaper, £1700 was cheapest they can do.
Spoke to Admiral, £825, boom

Ensure have given me a cheaper quote via a comparison site. Going to call tesco as a few people I work with are insured with them.

i had a renewal of 1200 once, got a quote of 750 from another insurer so rang up my own to cancel. they kept me on hold for ages and came back saying right weve got it down to 1000 for you and couldnt get why i still wanted to cancel, i think the guy must have thought i was making up my 750 price

It's gone up about 37% so most people are facing an increase.
It's making NCB pointless as you end up paying more the next year after earning a ncb.
Just don't be lazy and use compare sites for your final policy, they are an okay guide but it's always best to go directly to the company with the cheaper quotes and speak to them on the phone to see if they can beat it.

That's not really true though is it. Yes you may be paying more than last year but the extra discount from another years NCD means you are paying less than the true technical insurance rate that you would have been paying without it.

Thats what i do sunz.
Use confused.com as a guide for the cheapest company, then go direct to them.
You usually save an extra £200+ by going direct.

The problem is that the reason insurance went up so much is because of a massive increase in the amount of claims being made, then people not claming, earnt their NCB, end up paying more and that's pretty ironic I think.
Earn a NBC for being careful and pay more on your insurance because of people claiming for wiplash and faking crashes.
So although it's true you save a % with a NCB you are still losing out overall so its pretty much been cancelled out.

insurance is going up as more and more folk think they are 'winning' by making stupid ass compensation claims for sore necks and backs.
Cut the bullshit and they may well go down

Every single near miss i've had (apart from 1-2) has been because of women pulling out infront of me. Also found its mostly women that have no lane disapline.
