it's just a fiesta, not going to be hard to live with

only crap thing is that fuel economy which isn't that good for a 2.0 n/a that isn't highly strung.

I've got a Zetec S, same shape and only a few bits are different.

Mines been very easy to live with so far, nice car to be in, handles really well.

Test driven an ST and it was just as nice to drive, has that little bit extra pull over my Zetec S as well

seats are lovely, handles very well as standard but sits quite high, eibachs make it sit perfect.

stone chips on front bumper/bonnet are common, doesn't mean it's been rallied or anything, the paint is quite soft.

interior plastics tend to mark/scuff quite easily so check for that.

parts are cheap being a ford. blue dash is personal preference but i think it looks alright.

Would be an early one as I think the blue dashes look horrid.

Its just a shame they don't do them I'm frozen white with the dark dash.

Ive got an ST.

Fuel - Quite bad on 95 ron and winter - average about 30mpg.
With breather mods and 99ron with mixed driving average about 34mpg.

Honestly they need a few £k's to make them worth while but with 180bhp and handling mods they are a totally different car.

Depends what you want, for pottering about in a nippy car they are good, if your after a hot hatch and dont want to spend money on it then go for something else.

I got mine due to personal circumstance 2 years ago, the amount i have spent is getting stupid though but it never fails to put a smile on my face.

So in real fuel terms, what does £20 in fuel get you?

Tbh will more than likey just end up being sat on a set of escos wheels, coilovers and a cat back system.

dont work in figures like that .
A full tank gets me about 320 miles and that costs just £55-60 on 99ron mixed driving and mixed conditions

I don't own one but work on Plenty! They feel like they need another gear on the motorway! Good fun cars with loads of potential.

Define bad really i think good would be 55mpg

Of course theres worse and of course theres better. I would say 30mpg driving like a grandad from an under powered 2l is pretty bad in comparison

Haha! Which one? Red or blue? Blue is a turbo 2.3, red is a pure track car with supercharged 2.0

not really seen any major common problems with them, they are pretty reliable.

What happened to the red one that (i think some dude called Matt) owned, seem to blow up at Ford Fair just before he was meant to be taking out my mate on track?

Handle like they are on rails. I think 30/35MPG for a 2.0 N/A isn't bad tbh! They're in the rape tax band though.

i did post about that but don't think it came up, weird.

they need 6 gears really, sit at quite high revs at 70-80mph.

you'll get between 25-30mpg in real world driving. anything over that is pretty good going.

massive difference between the zetec s and st in terms of performance also.

was it sold on re ently to him? He was meant to be taking my mate out on track, would have been his highlight of the day as he binned his car on track in the morn. We come put of the grandstand to start walking over to meet him AMD I just caught him on the grass. Didn't have the heart to tell him. When he saw it thought he was going to cry poor lad

yeah mods seem to help. Believe it or not my decat has improved Mpg. Dyno graph sort of backs this up as the afr is higher meaning its running slightly leaner (safely though)

At 80 they sit right in the power band so best to go a bit quicker or a bit slower.

If I were you spend money on chassis mods first as they made the biggest differance to mine; bushes, coilovers, rear axles spacers, braided lines, better pads, upgraded front arb and a rear arb.

Cams and custom map for me next month

I get about 25mpg out of my 1.4 corsa AlunJ

I think I'm going to just have to just drive one closer the time and if I don't like find something else I do.
