whats people doing to their car before the winter gets bad i.e taking off the road, winter wheels, service...

i changed my coolant the other day just to be sure. i had a 14xe astra last year that WAS running just water, whoops hit a bit of a problem at 5.15am on a snowy morning

Change water to coolant...
couple of coats of wax...
and some screenwash with anti-freeze

Thinking about it the Combo could probably do with a service, I've put 12k on it now and I'm not sure when it was last done. Other than that, carry on as per.

Got a second set of fr wheels cheap, so I'll stick winter tyres on the worst condition ones probably.
Iv got 312mm brakes to fit too, not that their anything to do with winter approaching. Maybe I shouldnt fit my LCR splitter before winter if I want to keep it It'l be getting a good clay/polish/few layers of wax too
If I find a cheap car then it will be getting bought and used and abused over the winter months

Timing belt kit and full service on mothers Astra, coolant change on the puma and sisters mini. Some decent screen wash too. Might have the move the xev project into the garage too as engine currently in the garden.

Nothing, should run anti freeze all year round, not just for freezing, but the anti corrosive stuff in it

I tend to get the oil + filter dropped out every 6k so that will probably be due around November, cant really remember, and the coolant hasnt been drained and changed in about 3 years (since I've owned it), but in that time the first time I've topped the reservoir up was a month ago with about 200ml of 100% coolant.

Nothing seems to go wrong on this car
