Well it was fun while lasted but got a company car now and it was costing a fortune to run so sold the BM this week
Picked up the other day to start its new life abroad...................in Bulgaria 
So long 
Was a fun barge but now paid the loan off i used to buy it and can concentrate all my spare cash on bumblebee now......(C20LET sourcing/looking at currently)

same situation, won on ebay (worried if they would even turn up)
picked it up on a low loader truck with 2 other BM's on the back and headed for dover........
still least i know i wont get any random comebacks like Brett when he sold his audi lol

The guy that bought mine was driving it back to Romania lol.
The worked in the fields in the summer time, then went back home in winter.
He asked if it will get him home to Romania without any hassle.

I've just sold a car to Lithuania, Its due to cars being so cheap here, Even spending loads getting them back home makes it cheaper than buying one at home.

Mate of mine works at JCT600 Mazda, 2 guys came over from Malta to buy 2 cars and drive them back, being main dealers they have to do all paperwork etc first, so they had to get a hotel for the night and take them the next day.
Cars are expensive in Malta apparently, although my Clio 182 was imported from Malta

Cars are expensive in sweden i think as well. In a magazine i was reading (it was probably fastcar), it said a nissan 350z over there is like £50,000-60,000 due to all the taxt they pay

Andy - People from malta are always doing that, Heard of one guy coming over here with about 50k in cash to buy something. Mental.
The Uk is one of the, if not the cheapest places to buy a car.

Thats why i dont understand why my Clio 182 was brought over from Malta, it was registered over there, i googled the place stamped on the book, was in a place called Lija, yet the first service was in Cardiff at 6k miles, so must have been brought over here pretty quick, wonder if it was stolen

That's over here in Denmark. We have 180% tax on cars.
A new Corsa 1.0 is 14.000 GBP in Denmark.
The Nurburg edition Corsa OPC is 43.000 GBP.
A new BMW M3 is 172.000 GBP.
There are two reasons for importing a car from the UK:
1. Your country is financially dependent on the US Dollar. Hence when the US Dollar drops the GBP drops. Right now, the GBP is incredibly low, so importing from the UK is beneficial.
2. When exporting a car, you get refunded the British tax and VAT and instead pay your local VAT and tax. These are calculated from the cars value, not its actual cost. Since the car is right hand drive, the value is lower. Hence less tax and VAT.

Indeed. As a result, cars like the BMW M models, Opel OPC etc. are a fairly rare sight.
Also, insurance on such a car is a bit of a joke.
