hi
IMO there's enough that've already been done out there now. Save some cash on a conversion and buy one already done, they're relatively cheap now.

Hi mate welcome
They are good car, nippy, and can be decent handling with the right mods. They are as reliable as any other car if the conversion is done properly and if you have a decent engine, strip it down before it gets put in, change oil plugs belts water pump etc. Don't expect a super fast car, but they are really fun

Hiya,
Yeah they are decent cars, good potential, you need to watch how they go round corners in the wet though

Welcome to the site mate
I enjoy mine a lot! Wouldn't say it was the fastest thing out there but it certainly puts a smile on your face.

the idea of buying one thats already been done has crossed my mind but to be honest i like a challenge and at least il know everythings spot on with it . still not sure on a redtop or a c20let my mates offered me his c20let engine for cheap so maybe il be going down that route, if theres any one out there with a turbo conversion if you could give me abit of feedback on how it is i would be gratefull. saves me regreting buying the turbo lol
thanks for info guys

Plenty of c20lets to look at in the project section if you want some inspiration, given the choice of 2 I'd have a LET, think anyone would tbh

i know what you mean, its just that its probly going to work out costing quite abit more with the LET than a normal 2.0L , and if theres not loads of difference then i might aswell stick with the cheaper option and il take a look in the project section . cheers pal

There's loads of difference in a C20xe and a LET, you ever been out in a LET Corsa?

No never been in one , dont know any one with one around my area which is a shame, seen videos of them but suppose they show nothing compared to the real thing , you got any ideas on speed of a turbo when its in corsa ?

Not sure if you mean top speed or 0-60 or what? depends on power of the engine. You could stick with a standard bhp LET which in a Corsa will be quick. or you could spend mega money like some people and have them at 550bhp in a Corsa

550bhp in a corsa wow , lol , i was thinking top speed, the LET engine ive been offered has been fully reconditioned had loads spent on it , i think its had a few added extras but not 100% sure til i go down and have a look this week

I drove a XE, and was a passenger in a LET, the let was so much faster, had a bigger adrenaline rush being a passenger in that, than driving the xe lol

Top speed on a LET, probably somewhere around 160-175ish something like that, at a rough guess.

Yeah sounds about right.
If you've got the time and the skills then look into doing the work yourself but as has been said there's plenty about that have been done already. Either way, good luck

I'd like to sit in a corsa doing 165-175, tbh I know plenty of lads who have had big power let's and unless you spend a fortune on the shell too there only good in a straight line, shite on corners even with a diff, 6spd box, decent brakes, suspension etc, a lot of lads have more fun with xes now. Corsa just don't handle very well at high speed no matter how much you wana spend.

What would you suggest for spending money on the shell if thats the case , would it just invole strengthening it , il be putting coilovers strut braces and full big brakes on it anyway , and thanks for the info
