Is this safe to do?

The springs I want only come in 10" and I need them in 7" max so was thinking of getting the grinder out.

You can get custom made main springs afaik.

No-one will say it's safe, but if you think so then use your judgement. I wouldn't do it, pretty sure you can get custom length+poundage springs made up by places? That'd be my choice tbh

Ones I need have to be 60mm diameter which is rare cos most coilovers have 2 1/4"

rally design do 60mm springs so do merlin . plz dont cut them bud its a serious no no they wont sit right and wil come out of the strut.

yeah coilover springs have formed ends to sit on the seats correctly, so cutting is a no no unless you fancy heating them up and reforming the ends without affecting their spring rate...

I need smaller springs on mine imo, not sure what to do, at the moment the coils are all compressed as I run them on highest setting

few of the stock car lads i speak to say they get the springs custom made and iirc their pretty cheap like mate
