keeps the moisture around exhaust when car is parked and helps rot your exhaust.

usually for high performance or cars that aren't designed to last as longer as possible

People love doing it though as its not mega expensive and makes you feel special, also can add it to a spec list

it does help keep temperatures down, especially on performance cars where an engine bay might be already hot. wont see much benefit on cars like corrado's or anything

i still wouldn't bother wrapping my exhaust though, might be a benefit on a turbo impreza car as its a normal 2.0 engine with a turbo slapped on to make the power up, so things probably overheat and melt

Had a few manifolds coated by Zircotec, it does a really good job of keeping heat in the manifold but I couldn't say how much it reduces the under bonnet temps because they went on formula style cars with engine cover. The company claims up to 50 degrees reduction though.

It only rusts your exhaust if you don't use your car for ages and water somehow gets under the car, travels against gravity and settles down on your wrap.
