As per title, it's something I'm interested in knowing. If you have run the exact same car with the exact same spec at both Crail and Santa Pod post up your times for both please. I'm more interested in cars using road tyres but all times are appreciated!

For people whom that doesn't apply to with some know how - which strip do you reckon would be faster for doing a quarter mile in a road car on road tyres?

Crail is also just an old air field whereas santa pod has proper tarmac etc down.

Santa pod is also an old air field just it's been properly done as a drag strip, also santa pod is slightly up hill, because the drag events they run,
You'll always run a better time at pod, unless the track is damp. But in perfect conditions in the same car at both, pod will be quicker.

He also uses slicks, and does 11's in his Dodge.

What if you ran 1 with a higher powered car than the other? What would be the outcome?

Would an airplane take off quicker if the conveyor belt was made of tarmac or old airfield asphalt

How is pod quicker in the same conditions, if its uphill?

Think iv read before about pod being poor for grip and an oily surface?

Not much can be done at Crail due to it being a historical listed site iirc.

This is actually the whole point in the thread, I was talking about it on here and that point was brought up. I would have automatically thought that Crail, what with it being a generally inadequate surface, wouldn't be as quick as Santa Pod what with it having a custom laid surface so I'm looking for some real world figures.

one good comparison.
nics corsa ran was high 11's/12's on mt road legals, at crail.
chris suttons ran 10.9's, at pod
irc both were similar power maybe nics had abit more power.

well what you read about pod is utter rubbish lol!
tiny bit of water on it yes and it's like ice,
but when it's dry it's very grippy. i find i can launch much harder than i can on the road/local airfield i play on.
