Basically I went Cardiff last weekend for a couple
Of nights to watch the football. Went out had a good time
etc.
One of my mates met a bird, who had work at 7am, and wanted to stay in the room (which I didn't have issues with).
Anyway, she stayed,7am come, and she was late for work. She had her boyfriend ringing her, her work ringing her, and her mum ringing her (she takes her mum work also).
My mate walked her to the taxi rank, gave her a kiss and cuddle and off she went.
Anyway, we're just about to leave the room, and the door storms open, armed police come in with 10 officers in total, and 3 viot vans (1 each).
The next thing the copper says will scar me for life... 'you're all been arrested on suspicion of rape'.
So we get transported to the police station, I have to give all my clothes, put on a rape suit, give interviews on DVD's, DNA test (get naked infront of 3 officers why they swab my whole body) , then banged in a cell for 24 hours, knowing I've done nothing wrong!!
The bitch said that 2 of us held her down while 1 of us raped her!!!
For the next few days, I suffer depression, loss of sleep, loss of hunger. I have to explain to everyone I'm not a rapist, explain to my work, and basically it's scarred me for life.
After 2 days, I ring the police for an update, and he tells me she came in crying yesterday saying she wasn't raped, her mum made the allegation, and she had gone too far to say she hadn't been raped as she thought she'd get in trouble!
I thought I was going to spend 14 years in prison, for something I didn't do, it's put me through hell. It's a good job my mate who she was all over didn't shag her.
Can I claim any kind of compensation does anyone know?

you can probably sue her for defamation of character or something, but probably a scrub with fuck all to give.

 that is bloody harsh. obviously she made it up so her boyfriend didn't find out she cheated.
first off, hotel has cctv and will see her with your mate doing whatever on the way in.
iirc you can claim compensation but only after she's admitted making false allegations (which she has).
happened to my other halfs mate, although he got locked up for a while.

Yeah the police said at first her story doesn't make up, and i thought all along it was because she was gonna lose her job etc.
Her mum made the original call to the police also, not her.
Bitch. It was horrible trust me

probably one of my worst nightmares for something like that to happen, hope you get it sorted mate either way.

Sorry to hear about what happened to you and your mate.
The only person you could sue really would be the girl, the police were only doing their job at the end of the day by investigating an allegation of rape.
You COULD seek legal advice on the matter but IMO the costs of going to court etc. would far outweigh any potential compensation (unless she/her family are minted).
Maybe go for the media angle, get her name and story plastered all over the papers?

The more I think about it the more I think you should put it in the past
as this sort of thing could ruin a reputation or career. Dragging it through court etc is only gonna get your name in the papers etc.

The police should be pressing charges against her, a lass round my way got 12 months(served less than 6) for doing pretty much the same thing.

Crazy shit! I'd be furious. I've heard this type story many many times, and it boils my piss how the police appear to react. I realise that they need to be firm in this situation, but, after what you described....it seems they were a bit ott. As you say, this incident may well play on your mind for the rest of your life.
Also....armed police? Any need for that? Muppets.

I asked the DC if they will pre charges against her, and they aren't taking it further.
I forgot to say, he also said her mum and sister made previous false allegations in the past for the SAME THING!
