Thinking about options after the ep3 (as it's almost complete )..

I know as standard they wouldn't be as fast as my ep3 but I think with a stage 1/2 remap and the extra luxuries + badge whoreness that should keep me happy

I've got an insurance quote for £649 fully comp (23, 5 YNC + 3points) which isn't too shabby!

Also I'm not a fan of the chequered seats

Thoughts / comments welcome

With a map it would be well and truly up the arse of your car. I was looking at them the other day as well, alot more refined with the same speed.

I like them, I should have bought one instead of the R32 but it would have to be the Edition 30 for me.

My boss has 1, remapped with some fancy CAI filter thing, was RR'd at 249bhp.Its also DSG.

His has the optional extra tartan bucket seats which are comfy as fuk.

They have a weird power delivery too.It dosn't feel fast or have that punchyness of a turbo car, but when you watch the speedo climb and the way it reels in the traffic, you know that it is pretty rapid.

I'd like a Black or White one on the 18 inch Monzas please. With DSG.

Problem is you need to learn how to drive a DSG properly. It's not just a case of letting it do all the work.

IIRC you can also get the DSG settings "mapped".

Supposedly makes the gear changes quicker etc.

Fantastic cars - definately try and find an edition 30 - they remap rather easily to 300 bhp (they are de tuned S3 engines)

Go for leather and then you wont have the tartan either

My favourite VW when i used to work for them

I'm not so sure. A standard CTR certainly, but I think a 240bhp one would give it a good race! Not keen on the mk5's

Edition 30 would be the only one I'd have.

You do remember correctly. £400 remap = an extra 70bhp and 80 lb/ft of torque. Mad.

DSG if you want to be lazy.
Manual if you enjoy working the gears.
