I found this:

http://fwd.channel5.com/fifth-gear/videos/consumer-info/posh-diesel

To summarise: Citroen C5 diesel.

Supermarket derv: 155 bhp

On both BP Ultimate and Shell V-Power: 161 bhp.

So it does make a difference, but quite how much that would be noticeable I'm not sure.

I must try this in the Qashqai see if I notice any difference, I doubt it though. How much off a price difference is there?

I've just had a quick look at petrolprices.com for my area, and it appears it's 8-9p a litre more

It's not just the performance difference though, my Vxr gets better fuel consumption as well running on vpower.

I'm convinced it's in most peoples heads. Paid more for the fuel thus I'll drive so I get better MPG.

Adding millers diesel sport additive to a tank of normal diesel is supposed to bring it to the same level as v power diesel (increases the cetane rating) If im passing a shell garage that stocks it, which isnt that often I'll fill up with it. A tank every few months or so

I tried that Millers as I had a voucher for Halfords. Over the 6 tanks or so I used it for, I saw no/very little improvement in power or MPG.

I cant really see a difference but I dont really drive the same everyday or do the same journey everyday. Drivings very mixed, one tank could be town and b roads and next could be purely commuting / dual carriageway. Also never bother to calculate mpg, just go by the computer (taken with a pinch of salt of course)

I've been using bog standard diesel and struggle to get 400 miles range in the T'reg.
I can comfortably hit that target with V-Power or equivalent.

In my opinion, the question is whether it's worth the extra pennies.

The waste oil I put in mine seems to give me more power for some reason.
