Got my renewal in for the corsa and was quite pleased when i seen total renewal £599.99 so just phoned to double check and see what the monthly payments will be paying monthly direct debit. which is £51ish and all seemed ok then they said iv got to pay deposit of £149.99 plus £61 interest fee so when you add them all up it takes the total price up to over £720 which to me is quite miss leading to me.But what i can't understand is why i have to pay a deposit again like you do when starting up with a different insurer but this is a renewal.
And does that seem exspensive for someone 25years old with 5 years ncb on a corsa B breeze with a x16xe fitted??
Your thoughts & tips appreciated.

Yes that seems quite expensive for a 25 year old with 5 years no claims

Get a cheaper quote from somewhere like HIC then get Brentacre to match it Mark They knocked nearly £500 off my renewal by doing this.
Deposit + interest was always the norm I thought though on monthly payments?

You aren't paying a deposit like starting with a different insurer, you are paying a deposit so they get a portion of the money, then you get loaned the rest at a rate of interest.
Not sure what's so surprising about that?

Was going to say the same as John.
And all insurers will quote the pay upfront price which will then vary depending on how much they are lending you/rate of interest.

My renewal with Brentacre is £990 on an EP3.
I'm 30 with full NCB, no points or accidents. I'm gutted but no-one can get anywhere near that renewal. The North-West is screwed for insurance it seems!
