Have the R26 which is basically the same.
Pretty good to live with average around 30-31mpg on average daily drives, not the smoothest of rides abit crashy (to be expected), not had any major problems and it's done 63k. As you noticed plastics are abit cheap and you WILL hear rattles/creaks from all over the car, they come and go though. Power delivery is smooth too, not the usual turbo kick I've found, deceptively quick.
Tuner I used to get my ITG filter was K-Tec racing http://www.k-tecracing.com/. Think the remaps unleash a few more horses but looked into it really.
Best site is www.meganesport.net, pretty knowledgeable and welcoming bunch.

Ive had a f1, and currently driving a 225 as my daily atm.
LSD is over rated tbh. Ive extensively driven the normal 225, 225 f1, and r26 f1 over the last 1.5 years. There is nothing in it at all speed wise, and all the LSD does is make it turn it that little bit quicker. I have found tyres make more of a difference. The 225 on michelins (dont know which ones off top of my head), grip better in damp conditions than the r26 on avon zz3's for example.
I sprayed lube down the dash on my f1, and it stopped the rattle. Once the top engine mount had been replaced, no vibrations/rattles at all. My friends r26 dash rattles like mad and has more vibrations than mine (2008), yet the 225 i am in now doesnt (2005).
Im averaging 29 mpg at the min - but thats with a 100 mph 2 mile blat down a dual carridge way on the way home from work, and the rest just driving at the speed limit from one town to the next. Quiet good considering.

They are the best seats. My f1 had them, and it made the car so much better for me. The normal 225 make you sit to high.

Mate of mine has a Black 225.
De-cat, bigger injectors, front mount, LSD and a remap (think thats about it) All was done at RSTuning in Leeds, its running about 280bhp. Handles very well too!!

Recaro seats are from the LUX pack.
My mates is just shy of 270brake with a milltek turbo back system, ITG panel filter & RS Tuning map.
Power delivery is really smooth on them, just coming up to 90k on it and still going strong.
Check its had the front brake flexi recall done.

No, leather if from lux pack. Recaros are an option on there own unless its an r26.
Ive an r26 with lux and xenons. So easy to live with day to day. Build qualitys its pritty good, sure its no audi but its by no means bad. Mine has a slight sqweek from the parcel self on speed bumps but thats about it.
Its pritty good on fuel. I mostly arvage 31-33mpg with hardly ever useing the m-way. Best ive had was 39.8 on a round trip to fairford.
Power dilivery is smooth, not a hint of lag. Almost big CC V6 like rather than a turbo kick.
Traction is very good. Mine grips full throttle in second in the wet with TC off.
Presuming it has half decent tyres handling is sweet and theres sooo much grip.
Brakes even in standard form are fully awesome.
Tyres and brakes arnt cheap mine you. Mines had a full set of Dunlop sport max TTs. (£600) a full set off fresh discs, ebc yellows and braided lines (600) and ive just order some HnR springs from ktec. (190)
Next step for mine is decat, full system, Forge IC and RS Tuning stage 2 map.
Will bea very capable car then i should think.

My friend has a black r26, with an RSTuning map although not long ago had to have the engine replaced under warranty he has a nigeling feeling its the map that started the problems although cant be sure so is still using the RStuning map on the new engine and new injectors and said its running better then ever but get towards the rev limit and it miss fires and goes into limp mode for a second then its fine, he's having full exhaust and few other bitss fitted this weekend think he's going with a K-Tec map next to see if that cures it awesome car though very quick and got a good road handling

Reading a bit into tuning, and ppl reckon the rod bolts aren't that strong on these. Can arp bolts be fitted by removing the sump or should it be engine out to do it?

I bet the previous owner dared to use the windows on an icey day
I dont have a 225 but I've got a Megane II and I absolutely LOVE the thing.. Its a piece of French Crap but its an awesome piece of french crap... Because the track and wheel base is almost a square the handing is superb and the spec is brilliant.. I'd guess the 225 has got automatic everything same as the rest..
One of the most comfortable and forgiving cars I've ever owned..

looks like a 225 lux. As its a phase 2. If it had cup pack it would have red calipers and drilled dics. Thats the only real clue to weather it has cup pack. (Stiffer springs, uprated dampers, bigger brake master cylinder, extra under beam RARB, drilled discs, red calippers, anthersite wheels and mirrors)
Trophys are all phase 1 and all nimbus grey.
Recaros were around 800 new.
Lux pack (leather, keyless entry and go, auto dimming rear view mirror and front arm rest) was also around 800 iirc.

Keyless entry is part of lux pack.
Callipers may have been painted. Has it got drilled discs?
Sounds like you go a good one. Get some pics up
