When you say alarm is it more poss to be for the immobilser?

should this have a transponder paired to it?

That part number fits cars without the immobiliser

Ok, well I've had to replace my Ecu on my Corsa Gsi and once swapped I get the engine light flashing constantly. I've been told I may have a transponder dispite not having a chip in the key.
Any how I've removed the steering wheel cowling and no transponder.

So could this be the reason I'm unable to start the car?? Can it be re-programmed or by-passed??

If its an X16 it has the immob, yes.

Does it turn over but not fire?

What month is the car?

Yeah it's an X16XE

Date on log book says : 04 01 1995

Yup It turns over but doesn't fire

The only explanation I have is that your car doesn't have the immob but the ECU expects one, and that finding an older ECU is the solution.

To my knowledge you can't disable it if the ECU expects to see the transponder signal, and as you've no loom for it, fitting a transponder would be difficult.

I've found an Ecu from another Gsi of the same year and engine code, the No's on both ECU are a match..

So could it be a reprogrammed?
