Hi so the Impreza went today, very sad to see it go but the running costs are just silly tbh. I'm looking to spend around £1500-2000 on a replacement. I went to look at a Focus ST170 straight after my car went but it was a bit rough and had no service history... I posted here about a 150k BMW last week but I think that's sold now. I was thinking about looking at a Puma next week, seen one with decent mileage (around 70k) and the leather interior pretty mint, full service history for £1700 I think it was.

Basically looking for something with a tiny bit of poke, not really interested in diesels or automatics. Miles per gallon not really an issue as anything will be better than my Impreza! Seen a couple of 172's but are they rough at this price? I used to own a 182 and I did like it but found repairs expensive.

Just fire away with any suggestions... I'm literally getting the bus to work next week and this is painful for me, not been on public transport for a long time

Yes. Problem is I'm after something completely and utterly standard, hard on these cars... same with Fiest Zetec-S, is there actually a standard one left in the country!?

Leon's look boring without the 'R' at the end. The Cupra is a good shout I nearly bought one off someone off here before (Jas, I think?) I guess they have come down in price a lot, but they're pretty rare around these parts.

MX-5? Have most of these been fucked now... would have to be a 1.8 again a bit rare, maybe I'd have to open up the budget for one of those, can't do that right now.

I have a Leon cupra, not the 'R' but mk1 facelift, they look better than the early ones, bloody cheap now too!

Rather get the bus than an MX5

If I knew how to fix one, I'd have something like that. Unfortunately, I'm slightly retarded.

I started doing that with an old motor I had once.

Thing is you pay them, then you pay them again, and then... yup, you pay them again
