What's the best? AOL has gone tits up so need a new one, professional-ish sounding (hotmail, gmail etc. will be fine) that I can access easy and set-up easy on my iPhone. Is GMail best? I have an old gmail account but the amount of spam it gets is ridonculous!
Whats this .me all about in iCloud?

You can't stop the spam, gmail is the best I've seen at correctly putting it in the spam folder though so not really an issue.

Rob why dont you register a domain of your own then point your mails to one of the providers, then when someone brings out a better on or features you prefer just re-direct your mail to that one instead.

Brett and Nismo's idea is also good, can actually even use (basically) gmail for it but with your own domain.

I use hotmail and that lets me send mail on behalf of my domain.

Hotmail is rubbish though.
I've got a domain setup with google apps.

GMail - their spam filter is pretty effective too.
