Please no bull shit from Ojc or the like in here.
Some interesting stats and quotes here http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15512372.stm
My favourite memory with him in charge is the 1999 Treble! He is the only manager I can remember at United as he took over when I was only 2
What a legend

That is a stint!
Wonder after the likes of Wenger and Ferguson retire if we will ever see another manager stay as long at a club ever again. Hard to imagine someone like Mourinho staying anywhere for more than 3 or 4 years.

Was just thinking same. Wenger and Fergie are pretty unique in that respect.
Moyes is next longest isn't he? Can't see him staying at Everton for much longer either.

He's got to wait for Wenger to die first.

Nearly as long as Dario Gradi! (Been at Crewe since 1983, although he had a year or two as Director of football before becoming manager again)

I really can not see it it happening. Not the way foreign owners want results here and now. Mancini will not be at City in 25 years thats for sure! Chelsea too will never get a stable manager.
Fergie and Wenger are like an institution to the Premier League. Will be a sad day when both retire.
I've being holding on to Giggs, Scholes and Neville being at United and only Giggs is left! I've seen Hughes, Schmeichel, Irwin, Beckham, Keane, Solskjaer etc leave/retire.

You'll have it happening again, but not at big clubs, so no-one will give a shit about it

Successful teams have always stuck by there managers, they havent always had the results on day one like everyone is demanding these days, liverpool, manu, arsenal to some degree, have all had long running managers, shankly, paisley, ferguson, wenger etc etc.
Ferguson was up for the sack in the first couple of years ffs just goes to show that the majority of teams just depend on quick results otherwise the managers go.
this is why city have bought the success rather then worked for it. I genuinely cant think of a decent successor to ferguson that is also long term

Going to be very interesting when he retires. Do you united find another long term manager (He'd probably have to be a past club hero) or become another sack at the first sign of failing club.

Sacked within weeks! Cant sign players for toffee, he will be fine in Italy or Spain but think he'd struggle as a proper manager in England. IMO
