just rang vodafone to discuss upgrading to a 4S and what my options are, the guy said the price plans are set by apple so they cant adjust them at all. i said i want to cancel then and ill go to 3, he said fine send us a letter 
i thought they'd want to keep customers! been with them for years, bills are always £60+ and £100+ a few times

You'd get a good deal on pretty much anything else though, assuming you speak to retentions.

they offered me the same minutes and texts as 3, which i thought was good, they then told me the price £6 a month more and exactly whats available for existing customers 
my pac code or whatever is on its way

he actually lied to me on the phone as well. told me with vodafone im charged by the second and with 3 its by the minute, ie;with voda a 1 1 call is billed as 61 seconds out of my bundled minutes but with 3 it would be taken as 2 minutes from my minutes.
spoken with 3 who told me thats bollocks and both networks charge by the minute for the first 3 minutes and by the second after that
