no need for the sarcasm . surely there is no way grp would match the durability of metal . transportation etc when getting knocked around , clamping posts etc

It probably doesn't, hence the majority of tubular scaffolding is still metal tubes and timber boards.
The grp stuff ive never come across but I'd guess it's for specialist situations where you don't want the scaffold to conduct.

Yep, used for petrolium plants etc.
I'm not actually using them for scaffolding though so no worries there. They wont be taking much load either.
