I've just been given a damn marketing assignment to do and decided i'm gonna do it on the 'modified car industry'!! Lecturers not happy but who cares.
Basically i need to find three or four major global changes that has happened in the 'industry' over the last few years and say how companies marketing strategies have changed. Sounds borin i know, but i'd rather be writing about influences the fast & the furious has had and researching modified cars than talking about what he wanted me to do (Building raw materials, mmmmm interesting!)
So come on, rack your brains, i need 3or4 major changes, like laws, technology, stuff like that.
HELP!!!!!!

falling used and new car prices
increase in insurance costs
magazines, fast and furious, etc. (in the public eye more)

Well u could mention how manufactorers ave toned down the sports models of their cars over the years due to increasin premiums, and how group a (?) rally cars were banned for been too dangerous and that reflected the modified carscene in a way. I want my recognition on ur report by the way!

Thought about the raised awareness thing but never thought about the way costs are coming down (CHEERS), thinking about stuff like carbon being introduced to make them lighter, new advances, stuff like that too.
Gotta try to think outside of uk too.

Go back 4/5 years and mods were alot of engine stuff, now bodykits are the big seller.
Look at changes in design, so euro look to F'n'F of today.

If you looked at a copy of FC, you will notice that probaly 8 years ago, retailers only advertised in 2 colours. and listed products not with colour pictures like todays ad's.

how wheels on cars are getting BIGGER
a corsa on 17's 4 years ago would have been a miracle.
never mind 19" (scrivs corsa)
