nothing major but has massively improved the drivability and responsiveness.
so decided to remove the APS dump valve, although it was a recirculation it seems to have been playing up a bit and I suspect spring has had it or something is sticking.
removed the standard dumpvalve and blanked off the pipes from turbo and intercooler, also plugged up the vacuum pipe, whilst this might not be essentially good for the turbo the turbo is strong and should withstand this, i have noticed the throttle response improve massively since removing the dumpvalve and blanking it off seems to pick up and get onto boost quicker as well, it also has the benefit of the chatter now.
one turbosmart 3 port boost solenoid installed, car was only on the standard 2 port one so a massive improvement to boost control now this has been fitted and mapped
then had the map tweaked today, a very slight improvement in the power which might be due to the colder temps then when it was last done, however the drivability is much better and seems to pick up alot quicker, the figures are quite irrelevant because it is now so much better to drive.

dump valves are a waste of time imo, unlss running 450+

I think john maybe means with the DV blanked off.
I always thought that "turbo chatter" or compressor stall was bad for the turbo.

cheers lads, yes its not massively good but a decent turbo will take it no problems, its still much better then most aftermarket VTA dumpvalves which seem to cause alot of fueling issues

+1 for it not being a problem for a good Turbo. Discussed this at length with David from API when he was trying to convince me to go twin scroll on my old 03 STi.
