I know that P90X relies in part on Resistance Bands, I also know the list of exercises and muscle groups you can work on with them is huge, but are Resistance Bands actually any good at building muscle if used correctly?
I've thought about buying some as I just cant afford a gym membership and now the winters on its way, I thought I could use them fairly extensively after work, before bed, weekend mornings etc.
Just wondered who'd used them, or know of anyone using them, to any degree of success.

P90X doesn't rely on them, they're offered as an alternative to a pull up bar and free weights.

I've only used resistance bands for physio with my knee and they strengthened the area that needed it. I *personally* don't think they will do a great deal for you HOWEVER if you can't join a gym at the moment using them is better than sitting around on your arse to be honest.
