Well the company I work for does exactly that - computer and network supply, support and maintenance.

However we (generally) only cover a small area (~60 mile radius of Bristol)...

I would have thought there's plenty of options available nearby, either with local firms or nationwide.

Ah ok, I getcha.

Well as I say, that's basically what we do.

There's only 6 of us in the company, and 4 of us go out on site doing jobs.

It's not an easy field to get into in many respects due to the sheer volume of companies and people offering these sort of services these days.

Are you planning to do this self-employed, or have several people working with you?

We are currently looking at changing out support vendor....

How about 1500 desktops in the headoffices then a further 1500 branches nationwide with counter and backoffice equipment.

Tony - that sounds fun - who's that working for?

Gizmo - I'd use the Win2000 PC as the gateway, and let the Win98 PC connec through that. You'll have to set up the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Problem is, the Win2000 PC needs to be on 24/7 really.

I'm guessing you're on ADSL? If so you'd be better off buying an ADSL router. This way you can still network the two PC's, and share the net connection without having to keep the other computer on.

We'll I'd recommend something like this:

http://www.dabs.com/products/prod-info3-info.asp?&m=y&quicklinx=15KM

£53 for a LinkSys router. Basically you plug your NTL line into this and your 2 PC's and bob'syour uncle (after some very small configuration bits)
